Chicago Phonography performed at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore's Douglas Center on October 8, 2011 during the Sixth Annual Chicago Calling Arts Festival. Chicago Phonography during that concert included Chad Clark, Ed Hermann, Christopher Preissing, Norman Long and Dan Godston.
Much of the field recordings used during the concert were recorded by CP members. However, there were several recordings by the National Park Service that were woven in to the sonic terrain of the set; those recordings were used with permission from the NPS.
This performance happened during an event at IDNL that also included an audience-interactive panel discussion about field recordings, and a soundwalk along Miller Trail by the Douglas Center.
This event was co-presented by the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Chicago Phonography, Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology, and the Borderbend Arts Collective.
