Kinesthesonichroma was a multidisciplinary jam session with visual art, music and movement that happened at Fred Anderson Park during the Tenth Annual Chicago Calling Arts Festival (9/27/2015). This event included creative improvisation, as well as renditions of several of Fred Anderson's musical compositions. The performers included Roger Carroll (tenor saxophone), Adam Zanolini (tenor saxophone, flute, congas), Lewis Achenbach (live painting), Rupert Glimm (trumpet), Joe Vajarsky (tenor saxophone), Dan Godston (cornet, percussion) and Matthew Feingold (upright bass).
We would like to thank the Fred Anderson Park Advisory Council for their support and ongoing programming at the park, Erik Summerville for his help during this event, and Paul Steinbeck for transcribing the lead sheets that we used.
Kinesthesonichroma happened during the Tenth Annual Chicago Calling Arts Festival. Chicago Calling is a multi-arts collaboration festival; during the Tenth Annual Chicago Calling Arts Festival people in Chicago work with people outside of Chicago — both here in the U.S. and abroad. These collaborations include a range of art forms, such as music, dance, film, literature, and intermedia — and they are prepared or improvised. Some Chicago Calling events involve live feeds between Chicago and other locations.
